| notes |
The first known print and all the reprints consist in one booklet that contains the antecedent only of all the canons without the resolution. All the prints have the same contents and format. The 36th canon has a third part ad libitum.
The 1587 edition – the first surviving – is also a reprint, since we read on the main title: «Nouamente ristampati & corretti»; indeed a copy, dated 1584, possibly the first issue, was located in S. Anna in Augsburg, though it is now missing. For more information, see Bornstein, Italian Duos, p. 95-97.
